NC Plot v1.1 is a FREEWARE release of this well known backplotting utility.  It loads and processes even large GCode files very quickly.  The GUI is simple and intuitive, there's not a lot to learn or explain about this FREE version. The commercial release of NC Plot has many additional functions.  

There are other FREE backplotters, such as AutoEditNC.  However, when larger files are loaded into AutoEditNC it can go into lockup.  The same file loaded into NCPlot produced no problems and backplotted appropriately.  By virtue of it's reliabilty NCPlot is the backplotter recommended for the "Essentials".  Click the image to access NCPlot web resources.
